The history of Legend Jewelers is steeped in stories about gemstones encrusted goblets or even bugs cast into solid gold. We've developed our own techniques for creating some of our designs.
One of the most famous creations seen here is the selection of horned toad jewelry. These little creatures are produced from rubber molds made over 35 years ago. Although the horned toad is on the endangered species list now, back in the mid 1960's a local businessman turned goldsmith, Bart Mann, would make castings from the actual toads (brought into him by the neighborhood kids!). When these prehistoric little lizards were added to the endangered species list in the late 1960's, Bart made molds of approximately 15 different castings. Today we still use those original molds. The detail is absolutely striking. |
